Stop-Loss

There's something disturbing about the media celebrating the fact that 4,000 Americans have died in Iraq, because they think this will destroy John McCain's chances of victory in November.

UPDATE: President Bush speaks on the war. More from the New York Times.

All about perspective. Consider the excellent job our troops have done in the past 6-8 months since the surge at pacifying the insanity of Iraq, thereby minimizing the death toll to American soldiers. I guess everytime we reach one of these artifical millenarian benchmarks, this is what we'll have to contend with. And it just so happens that this one happened at the same time that the media was right in the midst of recognizing the fifth anniversary of the war.
